Aeffe SpA, the parent company of Moschino, Alberta Ferretti, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, and Pollini, has made a significant business move by transferring ownership of the Moschino brand’s beauty products to Euroitalia for 98 million euros. This includes cosmetics, fragrances, scented candles, and room and textile perfumes. The decision, announced on Thursday, marks a key change for Aeffe, which has faced financial challenges, reporting a net loss of 20.4 million euros in the first half of the year.
Euroitalia, which has been Moschino’s beauty licensee since 1987, has played a pivotal role in launching iconic products like Moschino by Moschino and the Cheap & Chic scent, recognized for its Olive Oyl-shaped bottle. This new agreement effectively ends the previous licensing deal, strengthening the partnership between the two companies.
Massimo Ferretti, Aeffe Group’s executive chairman, emphasized that the deal continues the companies’ successful collaboration. Euroitalia’s founder, Giovanni Sgariboldi, highlighted the shared values and creative synergy that have shaped their long-standing relationship, dating back to Moschino’s founder, Franco Moschino.
This transfer will provide Aeffe with much-needed financial support during a challenging period, while Euroitalia, which saw record sales in 2023, looks to build on its success with Moschino as a key creative asset in its portfolio.
