Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas, the founders of Caudalie, have invested 1.5 million euros in the natural acne care brand Skin and Out.
Four years ago, sisters Fleur and Amélie Desazars launched Skin and Out in France after experiencing acne themselves and recognizing the absence of effective global and natural solutions for the condition. Their brand adopts a three-pronged strategy, offering topical treatments, a variety of food supplements containing omega 3, probiotics, plants, vitamins, and minerals, as well as personalized coaching with naturopaths or dietitians specializing in acne.
The investment by the Thomas family is part of a trend where family offices and individual investors are increasingly participating in deals, intensifying the competition among strategic players in the beauty industry, which promises lucrative financial returns. Prior to their investment in Skin and Out, the Desazars had already ventured into skincare investments with a 1 million euro investment in Talm, a brand specializing in skincare products for maternity care, the previous year.
