Emilie de Tramasure has been appointed as the new general manager of fragrance and beauty at Chanel Inc., commencing her role on September 9. She will be taking over from Barbara Menarguez, who is set to retire from Chanel on April 26. In the interim period, Molli Megasko, who currently serves as the head of digital in the U.S., will oversee the fragrance and beauty division.
Barbara Menarguez, who has been with Chanel since 1998, became a member of the U.S. management committee in 2009, initially serving as the chief financial officer. She remained in charge of the U.S. finance department until 2017 when she transitioned to the position of general manager for fragrance and beauty.
For the past six years, Emilie de Tramasure has served as the general manager of watches and fine jewelry at Chanel. Since 2018, she has been a member of Chanel’s U.S. management committee, a move that coincided with her transition to the watches and fine jewelry role in the United States.
De Tramasure’s journey at Chanel began in 1998 as a brand manager for fragrance and beauty in Mexico City. She then spent eight years in Paris, holding various positions focused on product development and launch within fragrance and skincare. Following this, she relocated to Singapore to take on the role of regional head of marketing for watches and fine jewelry in the Asia Pacific region. In 2010, she moved to Belgium for a corporate role as the brand education director, where she played a key role in developing Imagine Chanel, a globally adopted employee engagement and training program. De Tramasure later returned to Paris as the international head of marketing for fragrances and beauty, where she led business strategies and product launches across fragrance, makeup, and skincare categories.
