Recently, a Chinese new brand ALIKS CHARWEN announced on the Xiaohongshu platform that it would be closing its store and clearing out inventory. The brand stated that it would begin the clearance process from June 2024 until July 2025.
It is reported that the brand was established in 2022, with plant-based skincare as its core concept. Over the past two years, it has only launched four products. Currently, the cleanser and mask still on sale are priced at 19.9 yuan. Some consumers have commented on ALIKS CHARWEN’s social media that the brand’s product range is relatively limited. In response, ALIKS CHARWEN stated that due to cost issues, it cannot support a broader product range.
Regarding the reason for closing the store, the brand explained that operational issues have made it unsustainable to continue running the store.
According to incomplete statistics from CHAILEEDO, at least five Chinese beauty brands announced store closures in the first half of this year, including four skincare brands and one makeup brand.
