Today, Chinese beauty conglomerate Joy Group announced that it has completed the acquisition of Foltène, a technology-driven hair care brand originating from Italy, further deepening its strategic presence in the hair and scalp care sector.
Founded in 1944 by a pharmaceutical research team in Milan, Italy, Foltène is renowned for its strong scientific foundation and pioneering discoveries, including the growth-promoting polysaccharide complex Tricosaccaride® and the seaweed-derived polysaccharide complex Tricalgoxyl®. The brand’s core product portfolio focuses on the healthy growth and repair of hair and keratin, spanning categories such as anti-hair loss ampoules, gender-specific anti-hair loss shampoos, eyebrow and eyelash serums, and nail repair essences.
Joy Group’s acquisition of Foltène is a comprehensive global acquisition that includes the brand’s intellectual property, worldwide business network, supply chain system, and its R&D laboratory in Italy.

The acquisition marks another milestone in Joy Group’s “multi-brand, multi-category, international” strategy, expanding its footprint from color cosmetics and scientific skincare to comprehensive hair care.
In 2024, following its takeover of operations for French premium scalp care brand René Furterer, Joy Group drove double-digit growth in just six months, with the brand’s growth rate further accelerating to 72% in the second half of the year.
