A few days ago, Tmall Global announced that in order to further improve the qualification requirements for Tmall Global merchants to enter the qualification audit, the access rules for the beauty category of the “Tmall Global Tariff Standards” were updated. The effective time is August 23, 2023.

The changed rule is that the franchise entry under this business category needs to provide 3 or more brands, and needs to submit the third level or less of authorization or proof of purchase with the trademark owner as the source. Taking Estee Lauder as an example, Estee Lauder Group needs to provide two brand products other than Estee Lauder, as well as relevant proof of purchase and trademarks for its entry into Tmall Global.
It is reported that Tmall Global is Alibaba’s imported retail platform, is committed to providing Chinese consumers with global imported goodies. There are a total of more than 29,000 international brands from 87 countries and regions around the world available on Tmall Global such as Estee Lauder, SKII, UNO and many others.
In addition, merchants on Tmall Global are all corporate entities outside of mainland China with overseas retail qualifications. The goods they sell are all originated or sold overseas, and are formally imported into China through China Customs via international logistics. All Tmall Global merchants are equipped with Chinese counseling for their stores and provide domestic after-sales service.
