Today, CHAILEEDO has learned that clean beauty makeup brand RED CHAMBER completed nearly 100 million yuan in Series A and A+ financing in May. The A+ round was led by Shuigyang Co., with Xie Bai Consumer Fund participating as a co-investor.**
According to reports, S’Young will leverage its mature experience in product R&D, supply chain management, and marketing to help RED CHAMBER further advance in product innovation and market expansion. Meanwhile, Xie Bai Consumer Fund will support the brand in areas such as channel development and brand promotion to foster multi-level collaborative growth.
Public information shows that RED CHAMBER was founded in 2020 and is committed to upgrading traditional makeup products through “clean technology + Earth-made innovation.” In recent years, the brand has demonstrated strong capabilities in the social media-driven makeup trends like Clean Girl, “Meilade” (Melard—a Chinese adaptation of the “Latte/Maillard” aesthetic), and lightweight breathable looks, through multifunctional innovation products such as multi-sticks, multi-use balms, and primer creams. These are combined with its natural-based film-forming technology.
When it comes to ingredient selection, RED CHAMBER adheres to extremely strict clean beauty standards, strictly excluding any known skin irritants or harmful substances such as allergens, alcohol, fragrance, and talc. Furthermore, to ensure the purity of formulations, the brand eliminates even ingredients with the slightest potential risk to the skin, opting only for clinically proven, skin-friendly safe ingredients.
In its formulations, RED CHAMBER addresses discomfort caused by direct contact between pigments and skin through an innovative oil-encapsulated powder structure. For example, its base makeup products such as the silicone-free, wax-free primer and pressed powder contain up to 99% natural ingredients. These not only deliver a long-lasting, refined finish but also create a breathable, skin-caring barrier, offering a gentle and burden-free makeup-skincare experience.
It is understood that this round of funding will primarily be used to enhance RED CHAMBER’s research capabilities. This includes building a digital efficacy testing system for makeup, conducting research on the skin microbiome, developing long-lasting skin-beneficial makeup mechanisms, and advancing skin longevity technologies—turning the clean beauty concept into evidence-based innovation. It will also help RED CHAMBER establish data traceability and efficacy verification systems, allowing its lab capabilities to support product safety and performance across the entire production chain.
Following this financing round, RED CHAMBER will continue to focus on areas such as the skin microbiome, AI-based ingredient compatibility prediction, sensory optimization mechanisms, and efficacy validation in makeup. Based on a “science-backed beauty paradigm,” the brand aims to reshape the product narrative structure of clean beauty in the Chinese market.
