It is reported that Yoshiharu Fukuhara was the grandson of Shinzo Fukuhara and was born in Tokyo in 1931. He served as the 10th President of Shiseido from 1987 to 1997.
It is worth mentioning that under the leadership of Yoshiharu Fukuhara, in 1981, Shiseido products of more than 60 varieties began to be sold in Beijing’s Friendship Stores and other locations. Starting from 1983, Shiseido signed four production technology cooperation agreements with Beijing, gradually developing, producing, and selling the “Huazi” brand products. In 1991, Shiseido and Beijing Liyuan Company jointly established “Shiseido Liyuan Cosmetics Co., Ltd.,” becoming one of the earliest foreign-funded enterprises to enter the Beijing Economic Development Zone.
Furthermore, under Yoshiharu Fukuhara’s guidance, Shiseido initiated a series of multinational and cross-cultural exchanges. Shiseido collaborated with French cosmetics companies Pierre Fabre and Serge Lutens, launching various cosmetics, fragrances, and skincare series. This helped Shiseido fully embark on the path of internationalization, establishing its position in the global industry landscape.
Shiseido stated in the condolence announcement that they will respect the wishes of the family, and the funeral will be attended only by close relatives.
