Today, Givaudan has unveiled leadership succession plans as Chief Executive Officer Gilles Andrier prepares to retire on 1 March 2026, concluding more than 30 years with the company, including two decades at the helm.
During Andrier’s tenure, Givaudan achieved remarkable growth, expanding its global footprint through geographic, customer, and portfolio diversification alongside more than 20 strategic acquisitions. From 2004 to 2024, the company’s workforce grew from 5,900 to 16,900 employees, sales nearly tripled from CHF 2.7 billion to over CHF 7.4 billion, and market capitalization increased more than sixfold to CHF 36.6 billion. His leadership firmly established Givaudan as a global powerhouse in Fragrance & Beauty and Taste & Wellbeing.
Following a comprehensive selection process, the Board of Directors has appointed Christian Stammkoetter, currently President Asia, Middle East and Africa and member of the Executive Committee at Danone, as Givaudan’s next CEO, effective 1 March 2026. With over 25 years of international experience spanning personal care, food, beverage, and nutrition, Stammkoetter is recognized for driving sustainable growth, building high-performing teams, and fostering innovation with a customer-first approach.
Chairman of the Board Calvin Grieder praised Andrier’s impact, stating: “Through his visionary leadership, the Company has consistently delivered industry-leading performance and created significant shareholder value. He has also shaped and nurtured Givaudan’s strong culture, inspiring colleagues worldwide.” On Stammkoetter’s appointment, Grieder added: “Christian brings a wealth of global leadership experience, a consistent record of high performance, and a great cultural fit with Givaudan. We are confident he is the right leader to advance our 2030 strategy.”
Reflecting on his upcoming departure, Andrier commented: “It has been an immense privilege to lead Givaudan for the last 20 years. With our next strategic roadmap in place, it is the right moment to hand over to Christian in 2026.”

In addition, Calvin Grieder announced he will step down as Chairman following the 2026 Annual General Meeting, after 12 years of service. To ensure continuity, the Board will propose Gilles Andrier for election as Chairman, bringing his deep knowledge and industry expertise to guide Givaudan’s next chapter.
