Recently, Bondi Sands has issued a recall for two of its mineral sunscreen products following concerns that certain batches may separate, potentially compromising their protective efficacy.
According to a notice from Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), the affected products may show uneven texture and visible water separation — signs that the formula has not been properly mixed. This issue could impact the SPF rating, meaning consumers may not receive the level of sun protection indicated on the packaging.
The recall affects two batches of the Bondi Sands Zinc Mineral Broad Spectrum UVA & UVB Protection Sunscreen SPF 50+ Face Lotion 60ml, with batch codes GC032084 (exp. Jul 27) and 4843 (exp. Nov 26). Three batches of the corresponding SPF 50+ Body Lotion 120ml are also impacted: GC032114 (exp. Jul 27), GC063314 (exp. Nov 26), and 4844 (exp. Nov 26).
Consumers in possession of these products are advised to stop using them immediately. They can return the item to the original place of purchase or contact Bondi Sands directly for a refund or a replacement product. The brand emphasized that no other Bondi Sands products are affected.
Bondi Sands has also stated on its UK website that it is working with local authorities to initiate a similar recall in the United Kingdom. In the UK, recalls are typically published by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), although an official notice has not yet been issued.
