Leading Chinese Cosmetics Company BTN Achieves Revenue of 2.8 Billion RMB in H1, Ul 18.45% YOY

Today (August 27), Yunnan Botanee Bio-Technology Group Co. LTD (BTN) released its 2024 half-year financial report.

The report shows that in the first half of this year, BTN achieved an operating income of 2.804 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 18.45%. The net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 483 million RMB, up 7.5% year-on-year.

In terms of sales of its own brand products, the skincare business, which is the backbone of BTN, achieved revenue of 2.272 billion RMB in the first half of this year, accounting for 81.42% of the main business income. The average selling price was 42.78 RMB, lower than last year’s 49.96 RMB.

The medical devices business and cosmetics business each accounted for about 9% of BTN’s total revenue. The former generated 261 million RMB in revenue in the first half of this year, while the latter generated 256 million RMB.

Regarding specific brands, BTN has developed a brand matrix centered around Winona, along with Winona Baby, AOXMED, Beforteen, Za, and PURE & MILD.

Among them, the core brand Winona achieved revenue of 2.388 billion RMB, with operating costs of 618 million RMB. Winona Baby, AOXMED, Za, and PURE & MILD generated revenues of 101 million RMB, 26.54 million RMB, 239 million RMB, and 25 million RMB, respectively.

In the financial report, BTN reviewed that this year, its research and development facilitated multi-category innovation, leading to the launch of Winona “Special Care Cream” 2.0, Winona Time-Sensitive Sunscreen Series, Winona “311 Ampoule” Essence, and Winona “Baby Sunscreen Spray.”

In terms of sales channels, BTN’s fastest-growing channel in the first half of this year was the OMO (Online-Merge-Offline) channel, which, although only accounting for 7.59% of total revenue, increased by 23.64% year-on-year to 211 million RMB. The second-fastest growing offline channel increased by 20.99% year-on-year to 772 million RMB, while the online channel, which accounts for 66.35% of total revenue, generated 1.852 billion RMB
