Today, LG Household & Health Care has named Lee Sun-joo, a seasoned beauty executive and former L’Oréal leader, as its new chief executive officer in a move aimed at revitalizing growth in its cosmetics business.
With more than 30 years of experience across both the Korean and global beauty markets, Lee built her career at L’Oréal, where she held senior posts such as general manager of Yves Saint Laurent and Kiehl’s. During her tenure, she helped make Korea Kiehl’s second-largest market worldwide after the U.S. and later spearheaded its transformation into L’Oréal’s second-ranked luxury brand by sales, behind only Lancôme.
Her leadership experience extends beyond L’Oréal. Lee guided Mediheal’s entry into the U.S. market as head of L&P Cosmetic’s U.S. business and later took the helm at Unilever’s Carver Korea, strengthening AHC’s brand identity.
“Lee’s strong marketing expertise and proven track record make her the right leader to elevate our cosmetics division to the next level,” an LG H&H official said.
Her formal appointment as CEO will be finalized after the company’s board of directors and shareholders’ meetings on November 10.
