L’Oréal Paris has announced the launch of its first at-home hair coloring device, Colorsonic. L’Oreal said that developed and refined over the past decade, Colorsonic is designed to accommodate all hair types, lengths, and textures with 29 patents.
According to L’Oreal, with Colorsonic, users can achieve full root-to-tip coloration in just five minutes. It automates the hair coloring process by mixing dye and developer at the some ratio to ensure long-lasting results. The device emulates the motion of hair brushing, parting, and saturating each strand to distribute color, even in difficult-to-reach areas such as the back of the head. The device’s bristles move 300 times per minute, adjusting their speed to deposit the right amount of formula for any hair type.
Additionally, Colorsonic introduces L’Oréal Paris’ first multi-usage hair color cartridge, capable of providing one full hair coloring or up to three root touch-ups per cartridge.
Ali Goldstein, president of L’Oréal Paris USA, expressed pride in this advancement, stating, “Colorsonic is a true game-changer for the category, bringing cutting-edge technology to hair color, and is a testament to L’Oréal Paris’ unwavering commitment to delivering the highest quality results in the comfort of your own home.”
According to L’Oréal’s latest financial results, L’Oréal’s sales in the first quarter of 2024 amounted to €11.24 billion, up 9.4% year-on-year. Among them, sales in the Professional Products Division amounted to $1.243 billion, up 10.7% year-on-year. In the earnings report, L’Oréal highlighted that in hair color, growth was driven by the relaunch of Redken’s heavyweight Shades EQ and L’Oréal Professional Hair’s Diacolor.
