According to Financial Times, Brazilian cosmetics company Natura and Co. has reportedly explored the possibility of divesting most of its international business under the Avon brand.
Financial Times said, Natura, which does not own Avon in the United States, is said to be considering various exit strategies for Avon International, including a potential divestment. It is stated that Avon International operates in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific region. The company has declined to comment on the report.
Natura has experienced rapid growth in recent years through notable acquisitions, such as The Body Shop, Aesop, and Avon International. However, the company has faced challenges in terms of profitability. Last month, Natura sold The Body Shop to private investor Aurelius Group in a transaction valued at 207 million pounds ($260.8 million).
In May, Natura announced its plans to integrate the operations of the Natura and Avon brands in Latin America. This strategic move aims to expand the company’s product portfolio and streamline costs.
