Today, Sephora officially announced that Ms. Ding Xia has been appointed as the General Manager of Sephora Greater China. It is reported that Ms. Ding Xia is based in Shanghai and will report directly to Ms. Alia Gogi, the President of Sephora Asia.
Public information reveals that Ms. Ding Xia had previously worked for HanesBrands Inc., a fashion retail company in the United States, for twenty years. During her time there, she consistently drove the company’s strategic planning and managed the business in the Chinese market, contributing to its rapid growth. In 2015, Ms. Ding Xia joined Nielsen, a global leading research firm, as the Vice President of Retail Research. In 2017, she held executive positions in fashion retail such as President of JD Fashion and Lifestyle Business Group and Vice President of E-commerce for Nike Asia Pacific and Latin America.
Ms. Ding Xia, the General Manager of Sephora Greater China, stated, “The high-end beauty market in China is at a critical stage in the next phase of development, and I am honored to join the team at this moment. Previously, according to the Financial Times, HSBC projected that Sephora’s sales in 2023 would reach 14.4 billion euros (15.6 billion US dollars), with an EBITDA of 1.4 billion euros (1.5 billion US dollars).
