On November 28th, Shiseido issued a statement stating that they have discovered a relationship between the nasal bone structure and skin conditions such as wrinkles, sagging, as well as blood vessels and other skin tissues. By applying this discovery and analyzing facial images, they have successfully developed a tool that can predict future skin conditions and potential issues like wrinkles and sagging.

Shiseido claims that this technology not only provides “improvement” type care to address existing skin problems but also offers “preventive” care to resolve them before they occur. Additionally, they plan to integrate this technology with other products and knowledge to provide users with comprehensive care that includes not only cosmetics but also recommendations on food, exercise, sleep, and other factors that impact overall well-being, thereby accelerating the company’s growth.
Shiseido plans to implement this technology as a tool for assessing skin conditions in their intrinsic beauty business starting from 2024.
