Symrise AG announced that Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, CEO of Symrise, stepped down after 15 years. Jean-Yves Parisot, currently serving as a member of Symrise’s executive committee in charge of the taste, nutrition, and health branch, will succeed Bertram as the new CEO.
The company’s supervisory board has also extended Parisot’s contract for another four years, until September 2028. In a statement, Symrise expressed gratitude for Bertram’s contributions and stated that he had played a decisive role in shaping the company. Under his leadership, Symrise has become a global industry leader and a respected member of the DAX-40 index. Bertram’s strategic acquisitions and focus on organic growth have positioned Symrise favorably for the future.
Michael Köng, chairman of Symrise’s supervisory board, highlighted the successful partnership between Bertram and Parisot in transforming the company into a leading player in the taste and nutrition sector. Parisot joined Symrise in 2014 and became a member of the executive team two years later. He currently oversees the taste, nutrition, and health branch and will continue in this role until a successor is appointed. Parisot’s experience includes global leadership positions at prominent companies such as Pfizer, Rhone Poulenc/Rhodia, Danisco, Air Liquide, and the Diana Group.
Bertram expressed his confidence in Symrise’s future under Parisot’s leadership, emphasizing the company’s industry leadership, innovation capability, quality, and sustainability. Parisot, looking ahead, stated that the company’s focus would remain on strategic planning to ensure profitable growth.
