Yesterday, Ulta Beauty continues its leadership transition with the appointment of Kelly Mahoney as the new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Announced by newly appointed CEO Kecia Steelman, Mahoney will oversee Ulta’s comprehensive brand marketing strategy, loyalty programs, media planning, public relations, consumer insights, as well as social media and influencer initiatives. She steps into the role following the departure of Michelle Crossan-Matos last month.
A seasoned leader, Mahoney has been with Ulta Beauty for over a decade, having held several senior marketing and strategy positions within the company. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President of Customer and Growth Marketing. Reflecting on her new role, Mahoney expressed excitement about the opportunity to further shape the brand’s future, emphasizing that beauty is not just about products but about self-expression, empowerment, well-being, and connection. “In my 10 years with Ulta Beauty, I have worked continuously to garner the unparalleled brand loyalty and trust that we’ve earned with our guests,” she said. “As Chief Marketing Officer, I will build on this while deepening our brand purpose of unleashing possibilities in new and meaningful ways to inspire, engage, and empower every beauty enthusiast.”
Ulta Beauty is also in the process of searching for a new Chief Merchandising Officer, with Monica Arnaudo planning her retirement.
