Pattern Beauty, the brand co-founded by Tracee Ellis Ross and known for its focus on textured hair, revealed on Friday that Tiffani Carter would be appointed as its first Chief Marketing Officer.
Carter transitions to Pattern Beauty from her role as CMO at Danessa Myricks’ eponymous cosmetics brand. Before this, she held positions at Shiseido’s Americas division and Coty Inc.
Ellis Ross, Pattern Beauty’s founder and co-chief executive, said, “Carter has a proven track record of amplifying authentic narratives through a customer-first mindset, and we are excited for her to bring her strong and unique perspective to our team.”
In her new position, Carter will be responsible for supervising retail, brand, and product marketing, as well as handling internal and external brand communications, including social media and influencer marketing.
Established in 2019, Ellis Ross holds the majority ownership of the business in collaboration with brand incubator Beach House Group. The brand has secured several retail partnerships, including Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Boots, and, most recently, Nordstrom.
