The US-based cosmetics brand Bath & Body Works, renowned for its diverse lineup of over 250 fragrances, has entered the South Korean market. Recently, Shinsegae Department Store announced the grand opening of Bath & Body Works’ first store in South Korea at its prestigious Gangnam branch. This launch follows Shinsegae’s acquisition of exclusive distribution rights for the brand within the country.
Founded in 1990, Bath & Body Works has built a strong reputation in the United States for its extensive range of body products, including body wash, lotion, scrubs, and candles. The brand is celebrated for combining luxurious quality with reasonable pricing, making it a leading name in the masstige (prestige for the masses) category.
Bath & Body Works operates over 2,000 stores across 43 countries in North America and Europe. The new Gangnam store reflects this expansive global presence, offering 301 products such as body lotion, hand cream, and candles. According to the financial report of 2023, Bath & Body Works recorded $7.43 billion, down 1.7% yoy.
