Recently, the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China released information on food and cosmetics denied entry nationwide in December 2025. Among them, 40 batches of cosmetics were refused entry. The authority stated that all cosmetics denied entry have been returned or destroyed at the port in accordance with the law.
It is understood that the cosmetics denied entry this time mainly involved categories such as skincare, color cosmetics, and body care, including hair masks, blush, body wash, serums, and facial masks. Among them, color cosmetics accounted for the largest number of batches, totaling 18. These included Bilang Natural Long-Lasting Silky Lip Glaze and Bilang Square Single-Color Contour Powder, all of which were produced in South Korea.
In terms of reasons for denial, 20 batches were rejected due to “non-compliant labeling,” while another 20 batches were found to be “not in compliance with the Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Inspection and Quarantine of Imported and Exported Cosmetics.”
It is worth noting that while most of the brands involved in this batch of denied-entry cosmetics have relatively low recognition in the Chinese market, some well-established names were also included. For example, LaPulovce, a light luxury anti-aging skincare brand originating from Switzerland with a history of more than a century, has established a clear channel layout in China. Online, it has opened stores on major e-commerce platforms such as Tmall, JD.com, and Xiaohongshu. Offline, it has entered retail chains such as Watsons and Yanli, and has set up counters in high-end shopping malls in certain cities, giving it a certain level of market coverage and brand foundation.
This time, five batches of LaPulovce products were denied entry due to “non-compliant labeling,” highlighting that even long-established imported brands with relatively mature channel networks still need to further strengthen compliance management and attention to regulatory details in the Chinese market.
