Bansk Group Acquires Majority Stake in Skincare Brand Byoma

Yesterday, Bansk Group has expanded its beauty portfolio with the acquisition of a majority stake in Byoma, the barrier-focused skin care brand founded by Marc Elrick in 2022 under Future Beauty Labs. The deal sees Bansk take over Yellow Wood Partners’ stake in the business, though financial terms were not disclosed.

Byoma has quickly emerged as a masstige skin care player, with distribution spanning Target and Ulta Beauty in the U.S. and Sephora, Space NK, and Boots in the U.K. The brand, which is expected to surpass $300 million in global retail sales by the end of 2025, has grown from its initial barrier-health positioning to broader offerings, including acne-focused solutions, supported by significant investment in clinical testing.

“We really love the beauty and personal care space,” said Chris Kelly, senior partner at Bansk Group. “We’ve been evaluating a number of skin care opportunities and have been focused on finding the right ones. We believe Byoma has incredible growth opportunities ahead of it.” He noted that the investment will help expand consumer awareness, refine formulas, and scale operations through increased marketing and infrastructure support.

Founder and CEO Elrick, who will retain a minority stake and remain at the helm alongside the existing leadership team, emphasized continuity and acceleration: “Byoma will continue to operate as a stand-alone business, but the partnership with Bansk unlocks an accelerated growth trajectory, allowing us to invest in people, R&D, and global infrastructure as we scale.”

Yellow Wood’s Dana Schmaltz reflected on the brand’s journey: “We watched this brand go from zero, supported it, funded it, and helped get distribution for it. But a brand gets to a size where it might benefit from a new pair of eyes.”

For Bansk, which also owns Amika, Eva NYC, and Ethique, the move reinforces its track record in building fast-growing beauty brands. With Amika ranked as the fourth-largest prestige hair brand in the U.S., the group is betting Byoma will similarly capture the next generation of skin care consumers.
