Brenntag acquires Quimica Delta, a company based in central Mexico that specializes in distributing essential chemicals and operates a network providing last-mile services.
The acquisition enhances Brenntag Essentials’ market strategy in Mexico by integrating Quimica Delta’s access to tollgates via marine terminals and last-mile infrastructure, thereby expanding and complementing Brenntag’s presence in the rapidly growing chemicals market in the region.
Established in 1974, Quimica Delta is headquartered in Teoloyucan, near Mexico City, positioning it conveniently close to key customers in Central Mexico. Over the years, Quimica Delta has developed a varied range of industrial chemical products and forged enduring partnerships with international suppliers operating in Mexico. Additionally, the company manages multiple rail terminals and benefits from access to maritime port facilities in Altamira. This strategic location serves as a pivotal entry point for chemicals primarily imported from the United States. In 2023, Quimica Delta recorded annual sales totaling $368 million.
Ewout van Jarwaarde, CEO of Brenntag Essentials, said: “Brenntag Essentials is focused on developing our triple business strategy, combining our unique capabilities in the market of a cost-efficient network of last mile service operations with regional sourcing and supply chain services, and interregional optimization. The multimodal last-mile operational capabilities and the access to marine terminal capacity of Quimica Delta expand our capability to serve our customers and supply partners in Mexico cost-efficiently and with the highest services levels in the market. Combined, Brenntag and Quimica Delta will be well positioned in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets for chemicals. I look forward to welcoming the team to Brenntag.”
