Recently, according to report, France’s Compagnie Léa Nature, a leader in organic and natural products, is expanding into the fragrance sector with the acquisition of a majority stake in Berdoues Parfums et Cosmétiques. As part of its continued external growth strategy, Léa Nature has acquired 60% of the Toulouse-based, family-owned company, previously held by Bpifrance and investment funds GSO Capital and Multicroissance.
The move marks Léa Nature’s entry into the perfume category, further diversifying a portfolio that already spans food, personal care, health, and home care. The acquisition strengthens its position in natural and responsible beauty, while also opening new doors in selective retail.
Founded in 1902, Berdoues is a well-established name in France’s perfume and cosmetics industry. With a workforce of nearly 100 employees and EUR 20 million in 2024 revenue, the group develops both mass-market and prestige fragrance brands such as Les Petits Plaisirs, Blondépil, Berdoues, and IKKS Parfums.
Sophie Berdoues-Coudouy, a fourth-generation member of the founding family and current CEO, will remain actively involved in the company’s governance and retain a significant share in the business, helping to ensure continuity.
For Léa Nature, which employs 2,000 people and operates 20 production sites across France, the acquisition aligns with its mission to offer environmentally conscious products. “The merger with the Berdoues Group is a natural fit, as it brings together the complementary activities and expertise of our two companies,” said Charles Kloboukoff, President and Founder of Compagnie Léa Nature. “We will particularly benefit from Berdoues’ longstanding expertise in natural perfumery.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
