On April 25th, Yunnan Botanee Bio-Technology Group Co. LTD (BTN) released its 2023 annual report. In 2023, BTN achieved a revenue of 5.522 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.14%, and a net profit attributable to the parent company of 757 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 28.02%.
In terms of brand layout, BTN currently owns several brands targeting different segments: “Winona” focusing on sensitive skin, “Winona Baby” for infant skin care, “AOXMED” specializing in high-efficiency professional anti-aging skincare, “Beforteen” for professional acne treatment, “Za” for mass cosmetics, and “PURE&MILD” for mass skincare with a focus on botanicals.
Specifically analyzing the main brand Winona, the financial data shows that Winona’s revenue reached 5.192 billion yuan in 2023, accounting for 94.4% of its total revenue.
Although BTN has incubated some proprietary brands, their contribution to revenue is relatively small. Financial data shows that in 2023, Winona Baby’s revenue was only 150 million yuan, and AOXMED’s revenue was 36.187 million yuan.
Regarding channel layout, BTN stated that the company adheres to an omnichannel sales model with offline channels as the foundation and online channels as the main driver. Over the past five years, BTN ‘s online revenue has grown from 1.48 billion yuan to 3.552 billion yuan in 2023.
In 2023, the proportion of offline revenue increased to 25.93%. It is understood that BTN’s offline sales are mainly conducted through OTC chain customers, commercial companies, and regional distributors. It is worth noting that BTN has added a new channel classification called “OMO channel sales” for the first time. In 2023, OMO channel sales revenue reached 523 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%.
BTN is also actively expanding its global research centers. In addition to the research center established in France in 2023, a research center will be established in Switzerland this year to conduct research in the anti-aging field, continuously extending its international research perspective.
For 2024, BTN stated that it will carry out brand upgrades and momentum building for its main brand. New brands will continuously enrich product categories and carefully incubate ecological chain brands. It will streamline and refine product lines and manage pricing across all channels. BTN will continuously enrich offline channels and explore the lower-tier markets. It will expand its overseas business and embark on a new chapter of internationalization. BTN will continue to increase research and development investment to strengthen product research and development innovation. It will embrace AI new technologies through comprehensive digitization.
