Conquering the Global Medical Aesthetics Summit, SkinCeuticals Promotes the Concept of “Integrated Skincare”

SkinCeuticals is in the spotlight again!

In recent years, with the continuous development of technology and the rise of the “beauty economy,” the medical aesthetics industry has experienced explosive growth. According to statistics from the Chinese Association of Plastic and Aesthetic Physicians, there are currently over 8 million people in China who have undergone medical aesthetic procedures, with those below the age of 30 accounting for about 80%. It is projected that the market size of the medical aesthetics industry will reach 288 billion yuan by 2024.

The booming medical aesthetics market has also created a demand among consumers for more professional and advanced solutions in the field. Worth noting is that the integrated skincare concept led by SkinCeuticals, a high-end professional brand under the L’Oréal Group, is precisely catering to the current market demand and has already been adopted by many high-end medical aesthetic institutions.

Recently, the 25th International Master Course on Aging Science (IMCAS World Congress 2024) was held in Paris, France, where SkinCeuticals took the spotlight as the flagship sponsor of this global event for professional beauty and anti-aging science. At the IMCAS World Congress, SkinCeuticals successfully organized a satellite symposium on “integrated skincare,” featuring several experts who conducted academic discussions on the frontier management of pigmentation disorders in different skin tones.

It is worth mentioning that the IMCAS World Congress is the world’s largest conference on medical aesthetic and anti-aging medicine. Why has SkinCeuticals been invited to participate in this conference for 11 consecutive years, and what exactly is the “integrated skincare” concept they propose?

Participating in the IMCAS World Congress for 11 consecutive years

Public information shows that the IMCAS World Congress has been held since 1994, starting as a small discussion forum with only 50 European doctors. It has now evolved into an international medical congress that sets the trend for the medical aesthetics industry and is known as the “flagship academic event of the medical aesthetics field.” It is reported that this year’s IMCAS World Congress had over 15,000 participants from around the world, including thousands of top dermatologists and plastic surgeons, as well as hundreds of leading medical aesthetic brands.

Undoubtedly, scientific research has become a key competitive advantage for brand development. As a professional brand rooted in science, SkinCeuticals has consistently pursued cutting-edge skincare solutions through collaboration between medicine and research, actively participating in major academic events. SkinCeuticals’ continuous presence at the top international medical aesthetics conference for 11 years represents global recognition of the SkinCeuticals brand in the field of dermatology.

As the flagship sponsor (the highest level of sponsorship) of this year’s IMCAS World Congress, SkinCeuticals joined forces with IMCAS 2024 to bring the “integrated skincare” satellite symposium and hosted the “integrated skincare Global Summit X integrated skincare Consensus Release Conference.” They conducted a series of activities, including educational sharing sessions and booth exhibitions, and made significant announcements to demonstrate the scientific and authoritative nature of integrated skincare and the excellent efficacy of SkinCeuticals’ collaboration with medical aesthetics.

At the satellite symposium titled “Frontier Management of Pigmentation Disorders in Different Skin Tones with Integrated Skincare,” SkinCeuticals invited four international speakers: Professor Yan Wu from Peking University First Hospital, Professor Sabrina FABI from Cosmetic Laser Dermatology Clinic in the United States, Professor Jihee KIM from Yonsei University College of Medicine in South Korea, and Professor Valeria CAMPOS from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Based on their clinical experiences in different countries, they shared academic research on the management of pigmentation disorders in Asian, Caucasian, Latinx, and African populations, providing important treatment strategies for this global challenge in dermatology.

In addition, SkinCeuticals presented four scientific posters at the IMCAS World Congress: “SkinCeuticals RBE Essence – Improving Facial Photoaging,” “Silver Umbrella Sunscreen – Multi-Effect Improvement of Facial Pigmentation in the Chinese Population,” “Color Corrector Emulsion – Moisturizing, Redness-Reducing, and Oil-Control for Sensitive Skin,” and “Purple Rice Essence Combined with A.G.E. Face Cream – Effective Firming and Wrinkle Reduction.”

What is “integrated skincare”?

From SkinCeuticals’ participation in the IMCAS World Congress, it is evident that the brand is dedicated to exploring and researching the field of integrated skincare. As a science-based professional brand, SkinCeuticals has always led the skincare industry with evidence-based practices. In response to the growing demand for medical aesthetics and postoperative skincare, SkinCeuticals has made early preparations.

It is worth noting that the concept of “integrated skincare” originated from SkinCeuticals. As early as 30 years ago, the founder of SkinCeuticals, Dr. Sheldon Pinnell, foresaw the future trend of skincare. He once stated, “After undergoing professional aesthetic procedures, it is only through the correct skincare regimen that you can achieve real effectiveness.”

So, what is “integrated skincare”?

Guided by Dr. Sheldon Pinnell’s insight, SkinCeuticals introduced the concept of “integrated skincare” in China in 2012 and has been promoting its advancement ever since. In the “Integrated Skincare Literature Review,” they provide a clear definition of “integrated skincare” as the combination of efficacious skincare products with professional medical aesthetic procedures to achieve synergistic effects, reduce adverse reactions, maintain optimal beauty results, and enhance the skin health and overall satisfaction of individuals seeking aesthetics.

In simple terms, integrated skincare refers to the skincare concept of “Professional Aesthetic Procedures + Advanced Homecare + Scientific Skincare Regimen = Long-lasting Comprehensive Efficacy.” Specifically, pre-procedure homecare aims to optimize the initial condition of the skin before medical aesthetic procedures. Skincare products used immediately after medical aesthetic procedures should soothe the skin and accelerate its recovery. Additionally, during post-procedure homecare, skincare products should synergistically enhance the effects of professional procedures.

Lead in the formulation of the world’s first “Integrated Skincare Clinical Practice Expert Consensus”

It is worth noting that SkinCeuticals also held the “Integrated Skincare Global Summit x China Integrated Skincare Consensus Release Conference” (referred to as the summit) in Paris. The global summit was co-chaired by Professor Yan Wu from Peking University First Hospital and Professor Ted LAIN from Sanova Clinic in the United States. They were joined by Professor Wassim TAKTOUK from Taktouk Clinic in the United Kingdom and Professor Jihee KIM from Yonsei University College of Medicine in South Korea to share case studies on the application of integrated skincare, demonstrating the outstanding efficacy of SkinCeuticals products in combination with medical aesthetics.

Professor Zhongzhong ZHENG from Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, presented the “Integrated Skincare Expert Consensus” and “Integrated Skincare Review” at the conference, which was included in the high-impact factor SCI international medical journal “Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology” (JEADV, IF=9.2). The latter is the world’s fourth-ranked dermatology journal, and its inclusion signifies the international recognition of the concept of integrated skincare by authoritative medical journals, further validating the scientific nature and research value of integrated skincare.

At the summit, Fan Jing, General Manager of SkinCeuticals Brand and Medical Aesthetics Category, summarized the development of integrated skincare in China over the past decade, stating, “Since 2012, SkinCeuticals has pioneered the concept of integrated skincare globally and has been committed to leading the new trend of evidence-based skincare in China.”

A wealth of cases and research indicate that the use of efficacious skincare products during the perioperative period of medical aesthetics can synergistically enhance efficacy and facilitate wound healing. However, China previously lacked industry guidelines for integrated skincare. Against this backdrop, SkinCeuticals China collaborated with the Chinese Non-Public Medical Institutions Association and the Chinese Association of Plastic and Aesthetics to develop the world’s first “Integrated Skincare Expert Consensus” in 2023, which was announced at the sixth China International Import Expo. The goal was to summarize existing clinical practice experience from China and abroad, provide reference integrated skincare solutions for dermatologists, and achieve significant milestones in advancing integrated skincare.

The formulation of the “Integrated Skincare Expert Consensus” is a clinical diagnostic and treatment theoretical basis system jointly established by SkinCeuticals and authoritative experts in the industry. It provides scientific, systematic, and standardized theoretical and practical references for medical aesthetics practitioners, ensuring that every aspect of integrated skincare has a solid foundation, ultimately enhancing the integrated skincare experience for beauty seekers. It can be said that this consensus is the theoretical cornerstone for the construction of the integrated skincare field.

According to public information, SkinCeuticals has partnered with over 10,000 high-end clinics worldwide and has conducted more than 28 clinical studies on integrated skincare. Through the precise compatibility of SkinCeuticals’ clinic-level products, they have achieved scientific validation through international standard skin experiments, ensuring that every piece of data is supported by scientific evidence.

As the originator and leading force behind the integrated skincare concept, SkinCeuticals, with its foundation in scientific skincare, has been deeply involved in the field of integrated skincare for many years. They have established an authoritative position in the field while driving industry progress. In the specialized field of perioperative skincare in medical aesthetics, SkinCeuticals has an absolute advantage and leading position. Undoubtedly, as a pioneer in scientific skincare and the founder of integrated skincare, SkinCeuticals has been leading the way in the advancement of evidence-based skincare.
