Recently, Coty has announced the appointment of Mette Engell as Senior Vice President, Global Travel Retail, following the departure of Guilhem Souche. Engell, who has been with Coty for nearly nine years, previously served as the company’s Senior Vice President of Europe A. Prior to this, she held leadership roles in Coty’s Luxury division, including General Manager for Luxury Australia & New Zealand from October 2016 to August 2019, and Managing Director for the region until April 2022.
Engell brings over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry, including nearly 21 years in senior roles at Parfums Christian Dior, before joining Coty in 2016. Throughout her career, Engell has demonstrated a keen strategic vision, which was especially evident during her tenure leading the Europe A region, where she successfully strengthened key retailer partnerships and drove growth across complex markets.
In her new role, Engell’s leadership will be vital in expanding Coty’s global footprint and enhancing the travel retail experience for beauty lovers worldwide. The company expressed confidence in her ability to build on Coty’s success and bring new levels of innovation and growth to the travel retail sector.
Engell succeeds Guilhem Souche, who is leaving Coty after serving as Senior Vice President, Global Travel Retail since September 2022. Souche joined Coty in 2020, where he held senior positions, including Greater China General Manager of the Luxury Division and later China Managing Director. Before Coty, Souche enjoyed a distinguished career at Parfums Christian Dior and L’Oréal, where he honed his brand-building expertise. Souche is now seeking a new position in either Europe or the Middle East, with his outstanding track record in travel retail and local markets enhancing his reputation.
Coty expressed its gratitude for Souche’s contributions, stating that he had served the company with great distinction, further cementing his legacy in the beauty sector.
