Yesterday, DSM-Firmenich has announced Jonathan Simon as its next president of fine fragrance, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s leadership transition. Jonathan Simon succeeds Jerry Vittoria, a stalwart in the industry who retires on July 1, 2026, after an illustrious 35-year tenure with the company.
Jerry Vittoria, acclaimed for his exceptional leadership and enduring impact on DSM-Firmenich’s fine fragrance business and the broader fragrance industry, has been instrumental since assuming leadership of the Fine Fragrance teams in 2017. The company praised his adept navigation through industry evolutions while significantly expanding their business.
Emmanuel Butstraen, Chief Operations Officer and President of Perfumery and Beauty at DSM-Firmenich, expressed gratitude to Jerry for his decade-long contributions, emphasizing his role in steering the company’s growth. “It is the perfect moment for us to make this move and prepare for the future,” Butstraen remarked, highlighting the strategic importance of transitioning leadership to Jonathan Simon.
Simon, currently based in Singapore, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Joining DSM-Firmenich in 2020 from P\&G Global Beauty Care, he has been pivotal in enhancing partnerships and driving growth. His extensive background at L’Oréal, spanning twelve years and focused on fine fragrances and the L’Oréal Paris brand, underscores his deep understanding of the luxury market and customer dynamics.
