Superdrug, a retailer specializing in health and beauty products, plans to allocate £1 million towards ensuring that sun protection remains both affordable and a top priority among its customers’ essential summer items.
As part of its ongoing campaign to urge the government to eliminate VAT on all suncare products, Superdrug, a UK retailer, is investing £1 million to ensure sun protection remains affordable and is recognized as a healthcare essential rather than just a beauty product.
This investment will involve removing the equivalent of 20% VAT from its own-brand suncare range, Solait, for the second consecutive year. This price reduction applies to 34 related products, including Solait Sun Cream SPF50 (200ml), which has been reduced from £6 to £3.59, and Solait kid’s roll-on sun cream SPF50+ (75ml), now priced at £2.79.
Jamie Archer, Superdrug’s Own Brand Director, emphasized the importance of ensuring access to sun protection products for everyone’s health and well-being at an affordable price.
