Azelis, a global service provider in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients industry, has recently announced its agreement to acquire PT Marga Dwi Kencana (MDK), a prominent distributor serving the personal care market in Indonesia. This strategic move reinforces Azelis’ position in the high-growth personal care market and expands its presence in the broader life sciences market within the country.
MDK’s product portfolio serves as a complement to Azelis’ lateral value chain to cater to the personal care industry’s evolving needs. Furthermore, MDK’s expertise in the Halal cosmetic market enhances Azelis’ technical capabilities, enabling them to serve a wider spectrum of the personal care market.
Established in 2009 and headquartered in the greater Jakarta area. Following the acquisition, MDK’s management team, experienced sales personnel, and technical teams will all become part of Azelis, contributing to the business and supporting the integration process.
The transaction is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of 2024, pending the fulfillment of customary closing conditions.
