Yesterday, Seattle-based skincare brand Herbivore Botanicals, founded by Julia Wills and Alexander Kummerow in their kitchen in 2011, has announced the appointment of Britany LeBlanc as its new Chief Executive Officer. LeBlanc, who previously served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Supergoop, brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
It is stated that LeBlanc spent seven years as the CMO of Supergoop, an SPF brand, and prior to that, she was a senior vice president of marketing at Worth Collection.
Herbivore Botanicals has been a leader in the clean skincare category at Sephora, and maintaining and strengthening this relationship is a key part of the brand’s strategy moving forward. LeBlanc emphasized the importance of continuing to innovate digitally, including a website relaunch and expansion into Amazon.
“Sephora has been an early partner of the brand, and certainly that’s a relationship that is so important to us, and one we’re keen to reinvigorate,” said LeBlanc. “Additionally, the brand’s already embarked on a lot of digital innovation, and relaunching their website and going to Amazon so I think continuing to really foster growth in those spaces.”
In her new role, LeBlanc will also focus on building out a team to support growth and marketing strategies.
Herbivore Botanicals is best known for products such as the Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil ($56), Blue Tansy Invisible Pores Clarity Mask ($50), Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum ($56), and Pink Cloud Soft Moisture Cream ($46). The company raised a $15 million Series A investment in 2019, led by Silas Capital, and most recently, a Series B round led by Aurea Group, though the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
