Yesterday, according to report, Huda Kattan has reclaimed full ownership of her eponymous brand Huda Beauty, solidifying her role not only as CEO but also as owner. Known for pioneering digital beauty influence and transforming it into a powerhouse brand, Kattan originally attracted attention when TSG Consumer Partners invested in Huda Beauty in 2017, during a period when retail sales soared to approximately $200 million.
In a significant move reported in August 2024, Kattan repurchased TSG’s stake, marking a pivotal moment as sales for the year surpassed $300 million. While specific financial details remain undisclosed, Kattan emphasized the substantial investment required for this acquisition, highlighting her commitment to independence and strategic direction.
Now, Kattan has purchased back that stake from the private equity firm. As reported, in August 2024, the brand had done north of $300 million in sales year-to-date, industry sources said at the time.
Under Kattan’s leadership, Huda Beauty has undergone a transformative journey, encompassing brand revitalization, expanded product offerings catering to diverse consumer needs, and a renewed focus on community engagement. The brand’s evolution includes ventures into fragrance with Kayali, and skincare lines such as Wishful and Glowish, broadening its footprint while maintaining a steadfast commitment to innovation and consumer empowerment.
Tapping into the emotional resonance of the category has also dictated how Kattan communicates to her audience, which on her personal Instagram alone, is nearing 5 million followers. On Huda Beauty’s Instagram, that number is north of 56 million.
