IFF has appointed Ana Paula Mendonça as the President of Scent, effective April 1st. Mendonça, known for her career focus on fragrance advancement and commercialization, will lead IFF’s Scent business unit, encompassing fine fragrance, consumer fragrance, and fragrance ingredients. Simon Herriott, the current president overseeing Health & Biosciences and Scent, will continue to lead IFF’s Health and Biosciences division. Mendonça will be based in New York City and retain her position within IFF’s Executive Leadership Team.
Since joining IFF in Brazil in 1996, Mendonça has held various roles within the Scent division, including president of fragrance ingredients and regional general manager of North America for consumer fragrances. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience in category management across fine fragrance, home, fabric, and beauty, as well as in global marketing, creative design, and product innovation.
Since December 2022, she has served as IFF’s senior vice president of Commercial Excellence, overseeing the company’s global key account initiative, sales excellence program, commercial analytics, and digital enablement. These initiatives will continue under the leadership of the respective business unit leaders.
