Yesterday, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) has announced that it granted 60 million euros to Intercos for research, innovation, and sustainability. The investment aims to support the digital transition, innovation, and environmental sustainability by establishing a new cosmetics production hub, a scientific center, and a photovoltaic plant. This funding will be directed towards creating a new industrial complex dedicated to makeup in the municipalities of Agrate Brianza and Caponago.
The project will focus on two main areas: Research and Innovation and Environment and Energy. According to Intercos, it will create a cosmetic hub that will enhance research and development activities, establish a new scientific center to boost laboratory activities, and develop a highly digitalized production facility with innovative processes. It will also install a photovoltaic plant to make the new facility extremely energy efficient.
With CDP’s support, these investments will allow Intercos to maintain its current quality levels and further increase its competitiveness in the global market. The project is also expected to have significant employment impacts by directly hiring new staff for the production site, the new research and development department, and the scientific hub. This initiative contributes to the achievement of the eighth goal of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and aligns with CDP’s Strategic Sector Guidelines.
