Recently, LG H&H reports first half 2025 results. In the first half of 2025, LG Household & Health Care (LG H&H) reported total sales of 3,303 billion won, marking a 5.3% year-on-year decline, while operating profit fell by 36.3% to 197 billion won.
The company faced contrasting performances across its three core business segments—Beauty, Home Care & Daily Beauty (HDB), and Refreshment.Beauty sales dropped 19.4% year-on-year to 605 billion won, with the segment swinging to an operating loss of 16 billion won. This marked a steep 70% decline in profit, primarily driven by continued weakness in traditional sales channels, particularly duty-free stores (DFS), where sales fell 19%. Despite these challenges, LG H&H focused on maintaining brand equity through quantity control and selective distribution.
On a brighter note, the company reported strong growth from brands such as VDL and belif across domestic health & beauty stores, Amazon U.S., and the Japanese market.
The company also announced its full acquisition of the LG Pra.L beauty device brand from LG Electronics. This strategic move aims to build a comprehensive K-beauty tech ecosystem integrating cosmetics, devices, and AI. LG H&H introduced the LG Pra.L SUPERFORM Galvanic Booster, a compact beauty device utilizing electric current for deeper skincare absorption, alongside a new skincare brand GLASSLIKE, designed for use with such devices.
The Home Care & Daily Beauty (HDB) segment saw sales rise 2.0% year-on-year to 542 billion won, while operating profit decreased by 7.1% to 29 billion won, pressured by higher fixed costs and increased marketing spend. Growth was supported by strong overseas demand, particularly the Euthymol brand’s expansion in Japan and North America and robust North American sales of Dr. Groot via Amazon and TikTok.
Regionally, in Korea, LG H&H recorded 2.25 trillion won, down 8.5% year on year. In China, it recorded 390 billion won, down 6% year on year. In North America, LG H&H recorded 266 billion won, up 4.8% year on year. In Japan, the group recorded 221 billion won, up 18% year on year.
Looking ahead to the second half of 2025, LG H&H plans to expand its beauty-tech offerings and broaden distribution channels for LG Pra.L and related skincare solutions. Despite ongoing macro and channel headwinds, the group remains committed to premiumization and innovation as key drivers of long-term growth.
