Recently, Louis Vuitton Korea has confirmed that it was the target of a cyberattack on June 8, resulting in the unauthorized access and leak of some customer information. In an official statement released Friday, the company emphasized that no financial data—such as credit card or bank account details—was compromised.
“We regret to inform that an unauthorized third party temporarily accessed our system, resulting in the leak of some customer information,” the South Korean branch of the French luxury brand stated. The breach was discovered and the company promptly alerted the relevant government authorities.
In response to the incident, Louis Vuitton Korea said it has taken immediate steps to contain the breach and bolster its cybersecurity defenses. “We are strengthening the security of our systems and working with the best experts in cybersecurity,” the company said.
This marks the second cyberattack to hit LVMH, Louis Vuitton’s parent company, in recent months. In May, Christian Dior Couture revealed that it had suffered a similar incident in January, which also involved unauthorized access to customer data, according to French newspaper Le Monde.
