Recently, Mary Kay, the iconic beauty and entrepreneurial powerhouse, has announced the appointment of Dr. Lucy Gildea as its Chief Brand and Scientific Officer. In her expanded role, Gildea will lead a cross-functional team to enhance Mary Kay’s global brand presence and scientific innovation, strengthening the company’s position across more than 40 markets.
With a strong focus on building a cohesive brand identity and strategy, Gildea will work to create an impactful product portfolio tailored to evolving consumer demands. She and her team will drive engagement strategies that tap into next-generation entrepreneurs and compelling brand storytelling, reinforcing Mary Kay’s legacy in beauty and direct selling.
Since joining Mary Kay in 2017, Gildea has been instrumental in modernizing the company, driving product innovation, and improving organizational efficiency. Her extensive background includes 15 years at Procter & Gamble, where she specialized in beauty technology, skincare product development, and upstream technology leadership. During her tenure at P&G, she gained valuable international experience while living in Singapore.

Dr. Gildea holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, with postdoctoral research in Immunology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital/University of Cincinnati. She also earned a BS in Biology from Georgetown College in Kentucky.
