Recently, Italian beauty manufacturer Ancorotti Group has announced the acquisition of Cosmoproject, a family-run beauty supplier specializing in skin care and foundations. The deal, set to close by the first quarter of 2025, aligns with Ancorotti’s strategy to strengthen its position in the global beauty market. While financial details remain undisclosed, the move is poised to significantly bolster the group’s capabilities and market presence.
Founded by Renato Ancorotti and his daughter Enrica in 2009, Ancorotti Group has grown from its beginnings in high-tech mascara production to become a key player in the global cosmetics industry. Serving over 300 clients worldwide, it generates more than 85 percent of its revenue from exports. With its facility in Crema—part of Italy’s “Cosmetic Valley”—the group employs over 500 people and produces innovative makeup and skin care products for international beauty brands.
Cosmoproject, established in 1993 by Primo Tortini, has carved a niche in the skin care segment, generating over €70 million in revenue annually, with exports accounting for more than half. With 70 clients and a facility near Parma, Cosmoproject’s integration into Ancorotti Group will enhance the latter’s capabilities in skin care and help the group achieve projected revenues exceeding €220 million by 2025, employing more than 800 people.
Renato Ancorotti emphasized the transformative potential of the deal, stating it would broaden the group’s expertise across makeup, perfumes, and skin care. “This acquisition strengthens our position as a unique platform showcasing the excellence of the Italian cosmetics industry,” said Ancorotti, a recognized leader in the field and former president of Cosmetica Italia.
