On March 30th, Yunnan Baiyao released its 2023 annual performance report. The company achieved a total operating income of 39.111 billion yuan for the full year, an increase of 7.19% year-on-year, with industrial revenue growing by 7.58%. The net profit attributable to shareholders reached 4.094 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.41%.
During the reporting period, the pharmaceutical business group’s main operating income was 6.481 billion yuan, up 8.16% year-on-year. The core products of the Baiyao series maintained good growth momentum, with a gross profit margin of 70.6%. Among them, the sales revenue of Yunnan Baiyao aerosol exceeded 1.7 billion yuan, an increase of 15.27% year-on-year. Sales revenue of Yunnan Baiyao band-aid, Yunnan Baiyao Plaster, Yunnan Baiyao capsules, and other products exceeded one billion yuan each. Specifically, the sales revenue of Yunnan Baiyao Plaster exceeded 900 million yuan, and the sales revenue of Yunnan Baiyao capsules exceeded 600 million yuan, while the sales revenue of Yunnan Baiyao medicated powder and Yunnan Baiyao adhesive plasters exceeded 300 million yuan each. Other branded traditional Chinese medicine products also saw impressive growth, with sales revenue of Pudilian Xiaoyan Pian and Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui both exceeding one billion yuan, increasing by nearly 16% and 124% respectively.
The health product business group’s main operating income maintained a steady growth trend, achieving an operating income of 6.422 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.50%. In the oral care field, Yunnan Baiyao toothpaste continued to dominate with a domestic market share of 24.60% (source: Nielsen retail research data YTD2312), maintaining its position as the market leader. During the 2023 “Double 11” period, the health product business group achieved multiple firsts: the official flagship store of Yunnan Baiyao toothpaste on Tmall achieved a breakthrough with sales exceeding one billion yuan for the first time, becoming the first flagship store to achieve this milestone with a single toothpaste product. It also topped the toothpaste bestseller list on Douyin and the toothbrush bestseller list on Douyin brands.
In the anti-hair loss and hair care field, Yangyuanqing accelerated its growth, achieving a breakthrough in sales revenue, exceeding 300 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36%. During the “Double 11” period, Yangyuanqing delivered outstanding results in online sales: ranking first in the Tmall domestic anti-hair loss category and achieving cumulative Douyin sales exceeding one billion yuan in 2023. Its core flagship product, the oil control and anti-hair loss set topped the Douyin Mall anti-hair loss shampoo bestseller list, and the nourishing anti-hair loss shampoo topped the Pinduoduo platform’s bestseller list.
The Traditional Chinese Medicine Resources business group achieved external revenue of 1.71 billion yuan, an increase of approximately 22% year-on-year, with sales revenue from Sanqi medicinal materials for external use increasing significantly by 81%.
