Recently, indē wild, the Indian skin care and hair care brand blending Ayurveda with modern science, has secured a $5 million investment from Unilever Ventures. The funding follows the brand’s impressive 400% growth in India recently and its exclusive partnership with Sephora.
The investment round was led by Unilever’s venture capital arm, with continued support from existing investors SoGal Ventures and True Reinvesting. Founded in 2021 by influencer Diipa Büller-Khosla and her husband Oleg, indē wild has quickly gained traction in the global beauty market with its unique ‘Ayurvedistry’ concept.
The newly secured capital will fuel the brand’s international growth, supporting its expansion into Sephora UK, which launched in late 2024, and paving the way for its upcoming entry into Sephora US in 2026.
Rachel Harris, Partner at Unilever Ventures, highlighted indē wild’s innovative positioning: “By blending the age-old wisdom of Ayurveda with the efficacy of modern science, indē wild is meeting the holistic needs of today’s beauty consumer in an accessible and comprehensible way. With its highly engaged communities across the globe, indē wild is redefining what it means to be an Ayurveda-inspired brand in today’s world.”
The investment comes after rapid growth in India, where indē wild has seen significant success on Nykaa, India’s leading beauty e-commerce platform. Since launching on Nykaa in 2022 and establishing a direct-to-consumer presence in the US and UK, the brand has achieved strong sales momentum, selling more than one unit per minute. Its Champi Hair Oil has secured the top bestseller spot on Nykaa, surpassing established names like Olaplex, L’Oréal, and Kama Ayurveda.
In addition to its retail success, indē wild was selected for Sephora’s Accelerate programme, which nurtures emerging beauty brands. The partnership with Unilever Ventures marks a pivotal moment in the brand’s journey.
“The investment and partnership with Unilever Ventures are a testament to the immense respect and trust we have developed with Rachel Harris and the UV team,” said Oleg. “Their deep expertise in the beauty space, innovative approach to clean beauty, and strong understanding of consumer needs will help indē wild scale even faster in this rapidly evolving market.”
