Armani Beauty, the renowned luxury cosmetics brand, has announced the appointment of Richard Pinabel as its new global brand president. With an impressive 25 years of experience in the beauty industry, Pinabel takes over the role from Véronique Gautier, who led the brand for an impressive 13 years.
Richard Pinabel’s career has been marked by notable achievements in both global and market roles. He began his journey with Armani Beauty, focusing on fragrances before spearheading the successful launch of Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb in the United States in 2006. Pinabel then held positions as the marketing director of Ralph Lauren and later as the general manager of several renowned brands, including Viktor & Rolf, Maison Margiela, Stella McCartney, Boucheron, and Zegna.
In 2012, Pinabel relocated to Asia, where he served as the general manager of YSL Japan and later assumed the role of global president of Shu Uemura. Returning to Europe, he took on the position of global deputy general manager for Lancôme in 2020.
Cyril Chapuy, the president of L’Oréal Luxe, the licensee of Armani Beauty, expressed his gratitude to Gautier for her outstanding contributions. He acknowledged her leadership skills and deep understanding of the luxury industry, which played a pivotal role in the success of Armani Beauty. Gautier worked closely with Giorgio Armani himself, introducing iconic products like Sì, a fragrance famously endorsed by Cate Blanchett. She also played a vital role in strengthening Armani’s masculine scent franchises, Acqua di Giò and Code.
Gautier’s tenure witnessed the significant expansion of Armani Beauty’s makeup range and the brand’s remarkable international growth across Asia, Europe, and the United States. Under her leadership, the overall business thrived, growing threefold. Chapuy expressed his confidence in Pinabel’s ability to uphold and enhance the brand’s incredible legacy, taking Giorgio Armani’s beauty vision to new heights.
