On November 30th, Natura&Co announced that the current Global Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager for Western Europe, Kristof Neirynck, will succeed Angela Cretu as the new Chief Executive Officer of Avon. The appointment will take effect from January 1st, 2024.
Natura&Co stated that under Angela’s leadership, Avon has successfully turned around its losses and streamlined its operations, fundamentally simplifying its product portfolio. Through a series of initiatives, Avon’s traditional direct selling model is transitioning towards social selling, focusing on an omnichannel approach for the future. Kristof, on the other hand, is skilled in business transformation and driving exponential growth. During his tenure as Chief Marketing Officer of Avon in the past two years, he spearheaded a brand relaunch and focused on improving profit margins.
Prior to joining Avon, Neirynck served as the Global Chief Marketing Officer at Walgreens Boots Alliance, overseeing more than 20 beauty and consumer healthcare brands. Additionally, he held leadership positions in various departments at Procter & Gamble.
It’s worth mentioning that Alessandro Carlucci will rejoin Natura &Co as a senior advisor to assist in turning Avon’s losses into profits and driving growth. He previously served as the CEO of Natura Cosméticos SA from 2005 to 2014.
