On March 21, beauty brand incubator The Center announced its acquisition of the body care brand Cyklar introduced by Claudia Sulewski in October 2023. Sulewski, a seasoned YouTuber renowned for her lifestyle, wellness, and beauty content with a vast social media following of over 5 million, maintains partial ownership of the brand. Cyklar’s hero product is a $58 body cream available for purchase in a reusable glass container on its online platform.
Ben Bennett, founder and CEO of The Center said, “Because of some of the successes that we’ve had, and probably specifically because of our transaction last year with Naturium, there’s just been an onslaught of interest from young brands who are realising that they need help.”
Bennett and Sulewski aim to introduce Cyklar to specialty retailers, mirroring the path taken by other brands within The Center’s portfolio. For instance, Make is available at Violet Grey, while Phlur is found at Sephora and Nordstrom, among other outlets. Cyklar is projected to achieve $12 million in retail sales this year.
Cyklar will maintain its emphasis on body care, with plans to introduce six new products in 2024. Bennett also mentioned that the brand is exploring the possibility of introducing smaller travel-sized options and expanding into the fragrance category in the future.
