Recently, according to report, luxury beauty retailer Violet Grey has unveiled its first foray into fine fragrance with the launch of Madame Grey. The new label debuts with two products: a $100 hair mist and an ultra-luxurious $1,100 Extrait de Parfum.
The centerpiece of the collection is the Extrait de Parfum, crafted by renowned perfumer Jérôme Epinette. Housed in a limited run of just 1,100 hand-blown glass flagons, the fragrance is described on Madame Grey’s direct-to-consumer website as a “transfixing ode to the one that got away.” Pre-orders are currently available.
The fragrance is also distilled into a hair mist, Pour Cheveux Strip-Tease available now for $100.
Violet Grey was founded in 2013 by Cassandra Grey, a stylist and marketer who is credited with helping launch brands like Augustinus Bader on the strength of her network and editorial perspective.
After a brief acquisition by Farfetch in 2022, which was ultimately reversed in 2024, Grey reacquired the company with the backing of private equity investor Sherif Guirgis, now Violet Grey’s co-owner and CEO. The brand has since focused on strategic retail expansion, including a shop-in-shop at Hirshleifers and the upcoming Madison Avenue flagship set to open in June.
