Boots, the renowned cosmetics and healthcare retailer, has recently welcomed Preyash Thakrar as its new strategy and transformation director. Thakrar brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles, including his most recent position as a partner for consumer and retail at accounting services provider KPMG UK.
Having officially joined Boots on March 1, Thakrar had previously served as a senior advisor to the CEO of Picadeli and held an interim role as chief strategy and transformation officer at the Royal Mail. His extensive background also includes a notable tenure at British supermarket giant Asda, where he held key positions such as chief customer officer and chief strategy officer.
During his time at Asda, Thakrar played a crucial role in shaping the company’s customer-centric approach and formulating its long-term strategies. Prior to his stint at Asda, he held various leadership and executive positions at both Walmart and Walmart Canada, accumulating seven years of invaluable experience within the retail industry.
Thakrar took to LinkedIn to express his enthusiasm about his new role at Boots, stating, “I’m excited to have the opportunity to lead our strategy, transformation, property, and business tech transformation teams as we embark on a significant period of change for the Boots business and the industry as a whole. Fun times ahead.”
Public information shows that Boots is a more than 150 years of history of British beauty and skin care company, with more than 2,000 stores in the United Kingdom, and has No7 Beauty Co and other private brands, in the United Kingdom has been popular with the public, celebrities and red stars, and even royalty favorite.
In January, Boots saw a strong retail sales performance of 9.8% year-on-year, on top of the 8.7% growth in the prior year, during its first quarter results.
