Yesterday, according to media, Yardley London-owner Lornamead has entered a new phase following its acquisition by private equity firm Sojourner Consumer Partners. The deal, valued at an undisclosed amount, marks a strategic corporate carve-out from its previous parent, the privately-held Fung group. Lornamead, renowned for its portfolio including brands like Finesse, Aqua Net, and Lypsyl, will now operate independently under Sojourner’s ownership.
Sojourner aims to bolster Lornamead’s growth trajectory and rejuvenate its brands through focused resources and strategic direction. Rob DesMarais, Senior Partner at Sojourner, expressed enthusiasm about integrating Lornamead into their portfolio of established consumer brands. The acquisition aligns with Sojourner’s strategy to enhance brands with dedicated support, foreseeing opportunities for revitalization and market expansion.
Emily Fong Mitchell, appointed as Vice Chair of Lornamead, brings over two decades of expertise from her tenure at Colgate-Palmolive, where she led significant initiatives in personal and oral care. This leadership transition aims to leverage her experience in guiding Lornamead through its next phase of development.
Despite the change in ownership, Lornamead remains committed to its operational base in Tonawanda, New York, ensuring continuity in manufacturing and office facilities. Randy Sloan, President of Lornamead since 2008, acknowledged the milestone achieved through this carve-out, expressing gratitude to employees and optimism about future prospects under Sojourner’s stewardship. The collaboration with Sojourner is expected to harness industry expertise and digital commerce capabilities, positioning Lornamead for sustained growth across its product portfolio.
