Yesterday, according to report, Cosmoss, the skincare and wellness venture spearheaded by British supermodel Kate Moss, has found itself in the midst of liquidation proceedings. The company, renowned for its prestige offerings in perfumes, skincare, and teas, initiated these proceedings after failing to meet its financial obligations, notably neglecting to file its company accounts.
Official documents reveal that liquidators were appointed on June 24, with the company formally beginning the winding-up process the following day. As part of its filings, Cosmoss disclosed debts amounting to $4 million owed to various creditors, with over $3 million attributed to Moss’ own talent agency, the Kate Moss Agency.
The brand, established in 2022, operated with a beauty product range spanning from $65 face cleanser to $155 perfumes, marketed for their homeopathic and spiritual attributes. Despite Moss’ stature as a cultural icon and her ambassadorial roles for major brands like Calvin Klein and Diet Coke, Cosmoss struggled to sustain its market presence amidst financial challenges.
While Cosmoss products were prominently featured in prestigious retailers such as Liberty London and Fenwick, the brand’s journey was marked by financial strain, compounded by its founder’s limited public engagement. Moss, known for her privacy and infrequent media appearances, maintained a significant ownership stake in the company alongside Warsaw Labs and other business partners.
