Kao Corporation, a renowned cosmetics manufacturer, has recently announced a product recall for a specific batch of “Kate The Eyeshadow (Marble Ink)” due to potential safety risks. The affected products were released on January 20, 2024.
During a routine quality inspection, Kao discovered that the interior of the eyeshadow containers may contain scratches, causing minute particles of aluminum to adhere to the product. Given that this eyeshadow is intended for use around the delicate eye area, there is a possibility of unforeseen injuries. As a precautionary measure, Kao has decided to initiate a voluntary recall of the affected items.
Although no reports of discomfort or adverse effects have been received thus far, Kao urges customers who possess the affected eyeshadow to refrain from using it immediately.
Kao stated that it will provide a full refund to affected customers and appreciates their cooperation and understanding during this recall.
Kate, a cosmetics brand under the umbrella of Kao Corporation, holds the esteemed title of “Pioneer of Affordable Cosmetics.” Founded in Japan in 1997, the brand adopted the slogan “No More Rules” and quickly gained recognition for its high-quality, yet reasonably priced makeup products. Over time, Kate has emerged as a leading brand for eye makeup in Japan.
According to Kao’s financial report for the first three quarters of 2023, Kate has contributed significantly to the growth of the G11 portfolio. G11 represents the eleven brands within Kao’s cosmetics business that have achieved double-digit growth on a global scale.
