Today (September 8th), François-Henri Pinault, the CEO of Kering Group, announced that his family (the Pinault family) has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Creative Artists Agency (CAA), a Hollywood talent agency, from private equity firm TPG, as of September 7th.
According to Henri Pinault, the majority stake in CAA was acquired through the family holding company, Artémis, and will be managed separately from the Kering Group. However, the details of the transaction have not been disclosed. According to previous reports, the valuation of CAA in this deal could exceed $7 billion (approximately CNY 51.368 billion).
Public information shows that CAA was founded in 1975 and is the world’s top-ranked talent agency, providing strategic marketing services such as entertainment marketing solutions. In April 2017, CAA established a joint venture called CAA China with Chinese investment firm CMC Capital Partners. They also facilitated the signing of a contract between Perfect Diary and Troye Sivan in 2020.
