L’Oréal China’s Packaging Supplier LEAGUER Net Profit Down 21% to 329 Million Yuan in 2023

On March 26th, SHENZHEN LEAGUER CO., LTD (LEAGUER) released its annual report for 2023. In 2023, LEAGUER achieved operating revenue of 2.516 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.90% compared to the previous year, and a net profit attributable to shareholders of 329 million yuan, a decrease of 21.03% year-on-year.

LEAGUER attributed the fluctuation in performance to three main factors: firstly, the underperformance of sales in the company’s industrial park carriers and a decline in customer sales in the new materials industry, resulting in a decrease in revenue from industrial park carriers and new materials industries compared to the same period last year; secondly, a decrease in fair value changes in income due to market fluctuations; and thirdly, the capitalization of interest expenses after the completion of the company’s industrial park carriers construction, leading to an increase in financial expenses compared to the same period last year.

It is reported that LEAGUER’s technological innovation services cover a variety of business models, each relying on a “deep integration of production, education, and research innovative incubation system” for development and mutual support. The market generally measures the value realization of this system based on the company’s investment incubation business situation. Despite the market fluctuations in 2023, the fair value changes in income indicators for the company’s investment incubation business decreased compared to last year. However, the annual investment income still reached 221 million yuan, unchanged from the previous year.

The main business of LEAGUER includes technological innovation services and strategic emerging industries. The strategic emerging industry is mainly packaging manufacturing, led by its subsidiary, Lixing Technology. LEAGUER stated that Lixing Technology has established deep strategic partnerships with internationally renowned brands such as Procter & Gamble, L’Oréal, Unilever, Estée Lauder, and Amway. It also provides comprehensive packaging solutions for high-quality Chinese brands such as Giant Biogene, Huaxi Bio, Fuerjia, Bloomage, Pechoin, and Yunnan Baiyao.
